The Amadriade Agriturismo is located on a hilltop surrounded by woods just outside the village of Trequanda, in the heart of Tuscany. The name “Amadriade” derives from the Greek word HAMADRYAS-ADOS: HAMA=together; DRYAS=oak.
The Agriturismo gets is name by the surrounding wood of oak trees, a species which found fertile land and was able grow and spread without the help of man.
From its enchanting position, isolated and peaceful, it is possible to admire the beautiful panorama of the Valdichiana and enjoy a relaxing vacation far from the stress of everyday life and the frenetic city.
It's is just a short drive through the colorful woods from Trequanda and the other picturesque villages in the area. Some of the most important towns are only a short distance away. For example, to name only a few, Montepulciano (quaint hilltop town known for its first class red wine Vino Nobile di Montepulciano); Montalcino (the home of the world famous wine Brunello di Montalcino); Pienza (considered to be the “ideal” Renaissance town); San Quirico, Cortona and many others. The most important Tuscan art cities of Florence, Siena, Perugia and Arezzo are all within one hour’s drive.
For those in search of a vacation dedicated to relaxation and health, there are a number of thermal spas in the area such as Bagno Vignoni, San Casciano dei Bagni and Rapolano Terme.
Food lovers will not be disappointed as there are several excellent Restaurants specializing in traditional Tuscan cuisine that we would be glad to recommend.
The Amadriade Agriturismo is an antique stone country house from the 1800’s, completely restored, maintaining its original structure and charm.
The Amadriade Agriturismo is divided into 4 apartments plus one where the owners live, always at your complete disposal for any questions, suggestions or curiosities.
Each apartment can sleep from 2 to 4 people comfortably, and are completely furnished in the traditional Tuscan country style with wooden beamed ceilings, antique chestnut furniture, walled kitchen units, cast-iron bed frames and colorful bathrooms.
The apartments combine the traditional rustic atmosphere with all the modern comforts: Satellite TV, ovens, air-conditioning and hydro massage showers. Clients also have unlimited use of the swimming pool and its breathtaking view of the surrounding woods and valley.
The expansive woods (a natural wildlife reserve) which surround the Agriturismo are property of the owners and offer the possibility of long relaxing walks or short strolls through an uncontaminated and peaceful setting, where the only distractions come from encounters with the deer, wild hares and birds which live in the reserve.
The pride of the Amadriade Agriturismo is its excellent IGP (denomination of controlled origin) Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is harvested (from the olive groves on the nearby hills), produced, bottled and sold the by the owners.
