Villa Bengodi is situated on the top of a hill close to the sea in southern Tuscany on the coast of the Maremma. The liberty style villa is embedded in 32 ha of land and dates back to the end of the 19th century.
Villa Bengodi has maintained until today the original structure, composed of a main building with independent entrance, 6 bedrooms, each with private bathroom, kitchen, dining room, TV-room and living room.
There are other two side wings (one with the dwelling of the owners, the other a holiday apartment for 5 people) and some annexes.
Around the villa, a beautiful park with age-old palms, various agaves, holm oaks that together create a unique setting.
From many angles inside the property it is possible to admire incomparable views over the sea with the cape of Talamone towards north, the Argentario towards south and in front, the Island Giglio.
On clear days it is also possible to catch a glimpse of the island Elba and Corsica.
The next beach distances only 100 m; it is a small public beach composed of sand and rocks. The most famous beaches in Maremma, such as the "Spiaggia di Colle Lungo", "Spiaggia della Feniglia", "il Bagno delle Donne", "Spiaggia della Fertilia" (one of the favourite surf beaches) are nearby.
Villa Bengodi is surrounded by the so called "Percorso della Montagnola" a path immersed in age-old cypresses and the typical Mediterranean vegetation.
The Nature Reserve "Parco Naturale della Maremma", also called "Parco dell'Uccellina" is expanding over an area of 8,900 sq.m. from Talamone (4 km) until reaching further north Principina a Mare.
Within the park are living many rare animals in a wild state. Along the coast towards south one can visit beautiful places like Orbetello with the laguna of the same name, where the sand dunes (Tombolo della Feniglia and Tombolo della Giannella) are connecting the mainland with the Monte Argentario.
Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole are the main centres of this promontory, which are also both preferred holiday resorts of many VIPs.
In the vicinities, sportsmen can go riding, play golf (golf course "Il Maremmello", Fonteblanda), make all kinds of water sports and go fishing.
In only 5 minutes from Villa Bengodi it is possible to reach Fonteblanda, where one can find everything necessary for the daily life (bakery, shops with typical products of the area and bio-products, supermarket, pharmacy, newsagent, post office etc.).
In the whole area there are typical restaurants to taste fresh seafood, other specialities of the Maremma and the local wine. |
