A great tranquility and curious sense of peace rule over these splendid grounds of the Tuscan Senese (the area surrounding Siena) where you’ll find that all is to taste, contemplate and remember.Sweet hillsides, abundant fields of wheat, proud cypress trees, warm earth tones, mystical radiance.... an extraordinary landscape that leaves you breathless.
In the rolling hills which interrupt the Valdichiana plains, off an old dirt road and past a wisp of cypress, the Terrarossa Agritourism rises up crowned by Tuscan forests, vineyards and olive groves.
Fabrizio Sallusti, owner and agronomist, will be happy to guide you through the various phases of production that take place on the farm.The agritourism is also placed in a strategic position enabling one to visit all the surrounding villages and towns without doing too many kilometres.
We are also willing to help you locate the most beautiful and particular places that the region has to offer, the easiest ways to arrive and the best local restaurants.The complex is comosed of various sections which make up a sort of a frame that surrounds the main body.
It is an ex convent whose origins date back to the 11th century and who in the 1600’s was part of the Spedal degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocent) property of Florence.Within the structure eight lovely apartments (with capacity ranging from 2 to 6 people) have been carved out, beautifully furnished with antiques and endowed with every modern comfort available... heaters, fully equipped kitchens, satellite TV, telephone, jacuzzi, fireplace, etc...
Each apartment has one or two rooms, a front room with kitchen and a bathroom.The floors are finished in original terra cotta, there are vaulted or wooden panelled ceilings, fireplaces, and large archways. These are just some of the architectural elements one can find here in the complex.
At the Terrarossa our guest can have the pleasure of a leisurely atmosphere for reading and relaxing, an enticing swimming pool, a panoramic terrace, a sun room, barbecue and oven with a covered patio area.
On the farm, two lakes for fishing are available and a series of paths intertwine into the oak woods for hiking and wandering.
Mountain bikes are also available for enjoyable and stimulating excursions.In the nearby vicinity it is possible to visit tennis courts, golf courses, go horseback riding, bird watching, soak in natural baths, archery and various tourist stops.
It is also possible to purchase Montepulciano Nobile Wine and Extra Virgin Olive oil produced on the farm in a small and exclusive area called Valiano.
This area is well known for its historical wine production where in the past the tradition and culture was that of country folk and monks. |
