SAN GIMIGNANO FARMHOUSE ACCOMMODATION
The farmhouse in San Gimignano in Tuscany, set on the Chianti hills, was in ancient times a convent; nowadays it is an elegant Bed and Breakfast in a panoramic position of rare beauty in front of San Gimignano’s medieval towers. Holidays in Tuscany can be spent on Mormoraia’s farmhouse, the ideal place for a delightful and relaxing stay in one of the most charming and interesting settings as far as history and art concerns.
Mormoraia gives hospitality in nice apartments and double rooms with private bathroom on a B&B basis.
The vineyards and olive groves surrounding the farmhouse produce high quality wines and extra-virgin olive oil, which are among the most valued and appreciated worldwide.
The tasting of Vernaccia of San Gimignano wine, of the other wines and extra-virgin olive oil, accompained by Tuscan culinary specialities, take place in the wine shop, where products are also on sale, or on the lovely terrace which offers a superb view of San Gimignano’s medieval towers
ROOMS AND APARTMENTS
The four double rooms in B&B are very comfortable, ideal for a holiday, even if of a few days, in Tuscany between Florence and Siena.
Eight apartments furnished in the typical Tuscan countryside style, with a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living-room offer travellers a comfortable and relaxing ambience. The apartments are spacious and fully equipped. All apartments offer a panoramic view, some of them over San Gimignano, the others on the estate’s vineyards.
SWIMMING-POOL
The farmhouse in San Gimignano is equipped with a large swimming-pool with Jacuzzi corner, which lies next to the portico with a panoramic view over San Gimignano’ medieval towers, a special place for an aperitif with the excellent wines produced by Mormoraia at disposal of guests staying in the apartments and rooms. The barbecue and wood oven in the huge garden are perfect for lunches and dinners in the sign of nature.
Mormoraia stretches out over 100 hectares, 30 of which are dedicated to the vine growing and 10 to the cultivation of the olive trees. The estate is set in the heart of Tuscany, on the green hills next to San Gimignano, in a panoramic position of rare beauty.
THE WINE CELLAR
The farming of vineyards and olive groves is carried out with great respect for the territory and environment under the supervision of the owner, Mr. Giuseppe Passoni.
Wine tastings take place in the wine shop or on the lovely terrace overlooking the estate’s vineyards and olive groves, framed by the magnificent medieval towers of San Gimignano.
Wine making is carried out with the help of the latest vinification tecnology, such as computerized temperature control during must fermentation.
French oak barrels and barriques used for the aging process give an important contribution to the achievement of high quality standards and make Mormoraia’s wines the most appreciated worldwide and featured in the most reliable guide books in the sector. |
